Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs

CFLs are widely know for being energy saving light bulbs, using 75% less energy to provide an equivalent amount of light, which means a smaller electricity bill. A CFL is a long fluorescent tube coiled into a spiral or folded back into itself designed to fit in place of an incandescent light bulb. Some CFLs are self-ballasted, the ballast is enclosed in the plastic under the glass part, and some (pin-based) require an external ballast usually integrated into a special fixture.

Some of CFLs Advantages:

Energy Efficient - CFLs use close to 25% the energy used by an incandescent light bulb.

Long Lasting - CFLs last up to 10 times longer than incandescent light bulbs.

Easy Replacement - CFLs fit directly into existing light fixtures.
